WHAT'S THE BIG DEAL?

This gingerbread house is based on a children's story, Gingerly, found in the book The World is Round by Gertrude Stein. Gingerly is about a little girl named Rose who has a blue chair, which supports her search for identity as she carries it up a mountain, alone. This story contains Gertrude Stein's famous line " a rose is a rose is a rose is a ..."

Bricault Design pursues projects in architecture, interior design, graphic design and product development. Their backgrounds include academic training in architecture and industrial design as well as millwork experience, and they use that combined knowledge of various fabrication techniques to develop custom details that solve design problems. They look for opportunities to question off-the-shelf solutions and to investigate alternatives, producing work that is often playful in nature. Their current architectural work includes a restoration of turn-of-the-century Brooklyn brownstone, a line of chocolate packaging, a private residence in Vancouver, and a tree house in the Queen Charlottes

  • Winning bidders must pick-up their house (or have made arrangements for others to do so) by 6pm November 26, 2008.
